He works up really quick at only 3.25 inches (8.255 cm) long, 2.75 inches (6.985 cm) wide. Great to use up some SCRAP YARN!

His ears, tail, and paws are all NO-SEW, just crocheted right into the row!

Here he is singing for you.

MATERIALS:
1. Medium weight size 4 yarn in any colors. I used Antique Gold“, “Banana“, “Sage” and “Forest Green“.
2. 3.5 mm crochet hook: (or smaller depending on your yarn. Choose a hook that doesn’t leave big holes between your stitches!)
3. Stitch marker:
4. Bent Yarn needle.
5. Polyfil:
6. Two 6 mm safety eyes
7. Sewing pins.

STITCHES: (U.S. Terms)
Magic ring: Tutorial below:

sc: single crochet
dc: double crochet
hdc: half double crochet
tr: triple crochet
trinc: two triple crochet in one stitch
inc: increase. 2 sc into the same st.
dec: (invisible decrease): single crochet 2 together.
Here is a video tutorial of the invisible decrease, which looks much better than a regular decrease that leaves bigger holes in between stitches.

st(s): stitch(es)
ch: chain
sl st: slip stitch
sk: skip
blo/flo: back loop only/front loop only. Here is a video showing you how:

pc: Popcorn stitch. 3dc in the same st, remove hook, insert into 1st dc, grab the loop again and sl st, ch 1. Here’s a video showing the popcorn st:

NOTES:
1. Work in continuous rounds.
2. Use stitch markers. Here is a video showing how.

3. Do not count chs as sts. Count the sl sts.
4. The finished size of the avocado is 3.25 inches (8.255 cm) long, 2.75 inches (6.985 cm) wide. The cat is 2 inches wide, 2 inches long, not including the tail. This will vary depending on the yarn and how tight or loose your tension is.
5. Know how to color change your yarn. Here is a video tutorial:

In both loops, 8 sc.
In the flo, pc (second paw).
In both loops, 2sc.
In the flo, pc (third paw).
In both loops, 2 sc.

Next we will make the tail!

Here’s a tutorial on how to close a ball nicely: HERE

Ch 4.
Sl st in the 2nd ch from the hook.
hdc
dc
sk 1 st.

Insert the safety eyes.
